Cruiser recommended I get the stock clutch and it's new so I'm thinking I'll just keep that for now.

Yea without the crossmember it's easier. Already had radiator out so it was no problem. Can't imagine trying to do just the clutch

Uh oh. SORRY Ruben. Got you mixed up with fijicorey25.

I'm running the same as you.

Ya know, I didn't install a new belt. And I think my pulley is dragging a bit. Going to replace those and update you guys.

Ahh no worries. Ya I like the improvement and for such a low cost. Where it really shines is in traffic waiting at a stop light. I noticed with my OEM fan clutch at a Stop Light I was going over 210 by hair. Now it RARELY will even touch 210. Keep in mind I live 10-15 MIN from the Texas/Mexico Border and right now its 96 degrees and getting hotter so to have my temps remain under 210 is nice.

That's what I'd consider extreme conditions for the just barely adequate cooling system. In most conditions the system works fine IF it's in 110% good shape.

Ha. No Harley but a Triumph. Those parts are expensive to get. Not sure how they compare

Back in '74 a set of connecting rods was $400. Of course they had to be gotten from the dealer. Aftermarket accessories for it were comparable to the ones for a friends BSA.

My XJ is one of two most reliable vehicles I've owned. The other was an '87 Toyota 2wd p/u I paid $200 for. Ran it daily for 9yrs until my wife got rear ended. She actually drove it home while the '99 Silverado that her was taken away on a rollback. Tweaked the yotas frame a bit.

Oh she's reliable. But can be testy once in a while. I've not had any other vehicle that was so easy to work on

I was able to get the shroud up from the top. It was actually one of the easiest removal of an engine component I've had to do so far lol. I probably replaced it in less than 30 min.
Not sure. Does this look too close? Yes, I did ding my radiator a little. There's about an inch of space between the fin and the rad
