Also thought I would add a few random things, like how I stay organized in my build process and where I get my motivation on YouTube. To stay organized I use an app called Wunderlist, on iPhone, Android, and the internet. The app is great for making to do and to get lists that are printer friendly. I like it for the ability to make a comprehensive list and then "Star" the things you want to work on that day or week. You can also set up reminders and then when it comes up that week or day it shows up on that specific list. I have all of my non active projects in one folder (Cleverly named "Vehicles") and then the Cherokee has its own folder. This way I can make the Cherokee folder, with subfolder Body/Paint that has tasks in it, those tasks can have subtasks like "purchase, install, paint, etc so I know what needs to be done for that task.
I also use eBay Collections and Amazon lists. Amazon is good because you can actually same things for sale from other websites in the in the lists. eBay collections is alright, not great. You can add things but deleting them sometimes doesn't work. And when you buy something it doesn't auto remove from the list. But the most annoying part is you can't view it from the mobile app. Lastly I use an app called Aftership to track all of my packages. It's nice for keeping them all in one place, especially the ones one sites that don't have apps.

Didn't get quite as much done as I'd hope. But have a good amount of the engine bay assembled just need the cooling system. Started on the flares but need to get some cheap clamps to free up a hand. But they look like they are lining up fine with the body lines.

I'll post more picture of the fitment on the 97-01 and 96 donor I have sitting around in hopes that you can open the market up to the 2 doors for the QF Flat Flares.

Thats sweet!!! I'm gonna have to get that! I use eBay collections too because I mostly pay via paypal and sadly amazon doesn't support it. I agree though that the amazon collection version is WAY better. Keep up the good work!!
Proof that the Napier QF flat flares fit the 1996 2 door body, they are a little loose because they aren't screwed in at all. Just mocked up.

Have the engine bay completely put back together and wanted to started it today my my battery cables arent grounding how they should so I'll have to wait for the new ones in the mail. Can't wait to take it for a spin soon!

Looking up some threads and people are talking about weight. No clue what I should be aiming for. I know I'll have to regear eventually. Planning on going with 4.56s. With 31s maybe 32s if the wheel wells need to be filled in a little more. Is there a weight I should be aiming for?

Attempted starting the Jeep today and here is what happens. I plugged in the battery and the lights turned on without the key, so that's problem #1. When the key is put in the ABS light comes on, when I turn it to start the car the BRAKE (P) (!) light comes on but no starter attempt.
After looking it up for a while I came across the the Neutral Safety Switch (NSS) so I took that off of the old auto transmission and plugged it into the harness and spun it through the different locations and it still didn't start. So I opened it up and cleaned it and tried again with the same results. I thought maybe the BRAKE light comes on normally when starting? Can anyone confirm? I also took the starter out and had it tested at O'Reilys and it tested okay. I bought a new starter relay and that didn't change anything either. I also tried the 1996's PCM in it and that didn't do much - for whatever reason the fuel gauge doesn't work but thats all the difference I noticed.
So I need to figure out if this is because of the manual swap, or because of something else. My battery cables came in the mail today so I hope to plug those in and maybe something with fix itself, that could be asking too much...
So once again - help please!

I have those same wheels with the same b/s. No complaints at all. Nice wheel for the price.
So I got some starter noise today. It has a low battery, only about 7.5 volts so I'll charger it up and see if that helps. No idea what else I would try. Maybe the starter isn't engaging the flywheel?
The three lights that flash are the gas, seatbelt, and check gauges. The others that are on are the rear hatch (was open), airbag, and ABS. The airbag and seatbelt lights turn on when I turn the key and then turn off shortly after.
Other than that I rubbed the side mirrors down with the red scotch brite pad and it roughed it up really well. I'm not sure I trust the DupliColor adhesion promoter because it is clear. But I guess we will see how well paint sticks when the time comes.

I want to take this moment to advise everyone considering using bed liner on their roofs to just get out.
This **** is resilient. If it had been done well I would have just painted it to match the body and built a roof rack to not see it. But since it was horribly applied I am using aircraft stripper to take the roof down to bare metal before painting. Used spray that didn't work very well but switched to a gel substance that basically melts it off.
I am getting excited. Should be done with prep Sunday and hopefully paint Monday or Tuesday. I charged the battery and the engine turns over but it still doesn't want to start up. Gonna bring more gasoline and get the battery tested tomorrow and hopefully it'll start right up. Oh and all of the warning lights turned off.

Got it running today! Woooo! Needed a new battery and the power steering pulley wobbles hardcore. Smokes a little and has low oil pressure. These are all minor details because this thing runs.
Im about 75% done with paint prep but the guy that said he would help me paint is being a little ridiculous and may bot be able to help me now.. not in the next few week at least. I have another friend I may offer some money and see what he says..
Few more days of tinkering and I'll drive it home Tuesday.

It took a long time - I considered burning it down for the insurance - remembered it isn't insured - so I finished sanding. One patch needs welding and then a final pass over the bondo and it should be ready to paint - hopefully the 4 days spent sanding the roof is worth it..
Need to get some sheet metal to fab up seat mounts. Also came up with an ingeniously simple bike mount - but I'll wait until it's done to share the good news.
Also looking for some advice - do I buy my 31's before my 1100 mile trip to New Mexico or after? I don't have the funds to regear quite yet, this winter hopefully. And there is some tread yet on the ones on there, about 3/16th. Just don't think it's worth it to put them on and put that many moles on them immediately. Thoughts?
