Not really sure yet, but when I bought my 1999 XJ, I was sorta thinking that I had one of each....but it's really just that one of the conventional lights is much newer. It looks really strange at night.
I think I'd go with a LED lightbar, rather than the upgrading the regular headlights. I think that you would get more bang for your buck.
But, I really don't know what I"m talking about..LOL!!

50 primes ARE cool. What are the deets? I've got an old Pentax 50mm 2.8 from the 1970's I use on my Canon t2i (w/ an adapter.) The focus is a bit soft, and the images seem to "glow" if it is too bright out...but that's why I love it.

What is the f stop on the 50? 1.4? I can't get that depth of field effect very well

You're probably using the standard kit lens that came with your Nikon? Probably the 18-55mm? You can get a 50mm prime ("prime" means fixed focal length/non-zoom) for like $100 and take your photography to a whole 'nother level.

You wanna know Battle's F-stop? If it's a current 50mm prime, it's probably 1.8. Or 1.4 if he bought a pricey one. Unless you are a pro - you're not going to notice a difference between the two. Even 2.8 looks similar.
