Local 4x4 Club Show. Didnt win anything(didnt expect to), but always good to see other vehicles in the area. A couple buggies from the black hills, and a JK on super duty axles and 40's, a 500hp bronco, and a 500 hp highboy on 42's.

 

IN My defense....a JK on 37's needed his lockers for this ledge. It was nearly as tall as my 32's

Fixed my back hatch today. I had to bang on the door in strategic places to get it open. So i disassembled the latch and found the culprit. The clip on the rod that jeep uses is cheap and slips. So i re adjusted it, and zip tied it in place. Can now open the door with my pinky.

Did a little run after our meeting. Still had about 2" to go before i hit my left front bumpstop.

 

Well i thought i solved my running hot issues. This weekend after running up a trail rather fast, i stopped at camp and coolant was boiling out of the overflow bottle. My mechanical guage said 2225 and my dash guage showed 215. At this point, i am thinking new radiator. I have flushed entire system, new hoses, new water pump thermostat, clutch fan. It gets warm when climbing the mountain pass or grades on the interstate, but stays around 215 220 when running trails. I am not burning coolant, my oil is not milky negating a head gasket. However i do smell a strong burning glycol smell, which i am attributing to the coolant boiling over the overflow and burning on the exhaust pipe. Only other thing i can think of is the tranny is running hot and adding to the issue in the heat exchanger in the radiator.

 

Did some suspension measurements yesterday from axle tube to frame rail. Actual measurements after settling are 4.75 front. 4.25 rear. Thats with a Tuff Country 3.5" lift, 1.75 coil spacers and 2" lift shackle. Fully loaded with trail gear and a full tank of gas and 2 dogs in the back.

 

Well i jsut had an Epiphone. I remembered that my fan shroud is only above the fan, well after looking at a few pictures, it appears to me that the bottom of my fan shroud is missing, which might attribute to my running warm in low speed issues......GAH i feel like an idiot. Off to the junkyard i go!

 

For a second there I thought your were trying to tell up you bought a guitar...

Good luck with the fix though, hopefully that will solve your problem.
