Default diamond plate floor

does the diamond plate vinyl from amazon stick to carpet???

or do i need to pull up the floor???

I would be shocked if it did.

Well.. depends. If you're not worried about sound and heat, go for it. If your carpet is already trash, go for it. If carpet is in good shape and/or noise or heat bother you.... I'd suggest you find some "faux" diamond plate floormats.

Can you weld? If you can, this is what I'd suggest. Even the thinnest gauge steel diamond plate is going to be stronger that the thing gauge sheet metal floors. It will be a lot stronger and - not that looks are completely everything - will look a lot better than some half-way peel and stick stuff that doesn't conform to the curves of your floor.

Just as an example, you can get 2 sheets of 2'x4' 16ga diamond plate SHIPPED for about 113 bucks online http://www.metalsdepot.com/catalog_c...ss_type=&cut=1

I'm sure it'd be cheaper than that at your local steel supplier.

Don't half-way it man. You'll be happier if you do it right.

First you need to understand that a "VINYL" is only a strong rubber sticker. So, no. It will not stick to carpet. However, with a couple wooden Popsicle sticks, and a hair dryer, you can conform the vinyl to stick to almost any "non-porous" material.
i.e. the plastic parts of your doors, dash, etc. Or exterior bits.

You could just purchase some of the cheap D.P. and screw it into the floors and it would suffice to give you that "KILLER" off road floor.

Even better, get some real D.P.(3/16-1/4") and cut out the bad spots in your floor then weld a whole new floor panel in. This of course is not cost effective, but will ensure you never end up Fred Flintstones driving.

Anyways,

These door panels are awesome. I will almost definitely make some.
