Got the rear leafs and new shocks on today. Wow what a difference!! Now I'll have to wait til next weekend to put on the front coils to match. Time isn't my friend!

Finally got the time to swap the front coils. The suspension is all done now!

Old coils Vs. New coils

Old leafs Vs. New leafs

New springs & shocks installed

Before Vs. After

Took it out for a few minutes of test driving

Next on the project list:
-Install the Spartan locker!

Gave her a washing. I'm really happy with how it's turning out!

You know it's crazy the difference between jeeps from the north and south. It's quite a blessing that I have not had any difficulty removing any bolts. Control arms, leaf spring bolts, even the rear shock bolts all came off with no issues whatsoever.

Not much news, just been riding and enjoying it. Hopefully I'll get around to putting the locker in tomorrow morning.

Some recent pics:

& some shiny new brakes...

Thanks guys!

Ever since replacing the front calipers, I've been in a wrestling match with the brakes.

The story goes... Replaced the calipers and then couldn't get the brakes to bleed correctly and found out the master cylinder had gone bad. Replaced the master cylinder and got speed bleeder valves so I don't have to bother my neighbor to help bleed brakes. While installing speed bleeder valves, broke off the rear passenger valve in the wheel cylinder. Replaced the wheel cylinder. Rebled the 3 with speed bleeders and used a hand vacuum pump on the new wheel cylinder. Pedal still goes to the floor. Been sitting for 3 weeks. The moral of the story is - I hate working with brakes.

I'm going to try and take it to the shop next door this afternoon and get some help getting the brakes solid again. I'm just tired of fooling with them. I've never had this much trouble with something so simple. Oh well.

The old red 2wd xj is still kicking and has been serving as my daily driver. It has since moved an entire home worth of furniture twice, pulled trailers more than twice it's size, towed good bit over it's towing capacity, been driven off road pretty hard, and never skips a beat. (knock on wood)

Well lastnight a killer deal popped up on craiglist for a 99 4x4. Got this one for $600. Runs pretty rough at the moment. Nothing a good weekend of love can't fix. Now this one... will not be so simple a build. Can't wait to get going.

Nice. I wouldn't call your 8.25 a pro in the purchase since it's not any stronger than the d35 being a 27 spline. But wow what a difference those new springs made. Nice score by the way with the new Jeep.
