I just had this same problem, but it ended up being my cat was clogged.
Run some seafoam through it and run it on the high way, also try some fuel injectin clwaner.

248 cars hell I've flipped a few in my life and owned my fair share in my 66 yrs. but No Where Near That Number. With that many bought and sold you "MUST" have a Dealers License or the State would be all over you moving that many.
I think if you check what the fine's are for removing a Cat. you might reconsider doing so. If not for that reason then for the reason the engines of later years need them for it run properly, no way around it. I'm glad all of yours have ran so well without Cats.

Cats are nothing but emissions bull**** after a vehicle is so old or has so many miles they can be removed well in my case anyway we have no emissions tests or anything like that in south Carolina buy I know in some states you are tested and need one to pass

You may wish to re-read the site rules, particularly section 5:

I can promise you that everyone driving behind 3/4 of these 248 cars you owned-but-didn't-actually-legally-own think differently.

Furthermore there is absolutely NO reason to even consider removing the cat. It doesn't limit performance, and makes your vehicle smell WAY better for the people behind you, as well as preventing your truck from spewing poisonous gases out the tailpipe. If it's clogged, replace it.
Further discussion of illegal removal of the catalytic converter will earn you a vacation from this site.
