What if it runs at around 160 almost all the time, and 210 when idle'ing after a while, ive warmed up to 210 in drive throughs/traffic (so far no higher)

is that bad?

Wow. The '92 won't even get to 210, and the '98's fan turn on right past the 210 mark. Unless something's going wrong, it never gets past that....Maybe look into a cooling fan temp sensor...

my temp gauge stays at 100 all the time...but that would be celcius with the Canadian gauge...I think the conversion is around 212

my 1990 runs around 220-230 right now... I'm trying to figure out why, since that seems pretty high to me. New thermostat and fan clutch are going in soon.

my 2001 runs between 200-210 consistently.

I got a 3 core. and live in Arizona. Which has been above 100 degrees that last 15 days. mine only goes up to 200 and 210 no matter what i do. During the winter i'm 170-180.

My '87 Pioneer does the same thing--I don't think I've ever seen it reach 200 or so on the gauge.

However, I did put a stock 195 degree thermostat in it right after I bought it a little over 2 yrs ago. I think the gauge or sender unit just reads low.

My '92 Laredo with a 195 degree new thermostat runs 195-200 all the time.
