look at any off road race car. the suspension is far from being short or mid arm.
once you've got the geometry going for you, the rest is in shocks/coils/steering etc...

T-link steering would connect the tie rod at both the knuckles and then the drag link would be mounted to the tie rod itself rather than crossover...
