    Thanks for the input. When i noticed the transmission getting to hot we stopped for a bit then drove the rest of the way to the light house in 4low. Did not do alot of driving the rest of the time we where there. But i was a great time all the same. And the new trans cooler is on the way. Thanks again.

    When transmission gets hot, ideally before it gets too hot, shift into 4-Low and drive. This will reduce the strain on transmission and help keep torque converter locked.
    18 psi will also hep, if you are going any distance on the beach.
    Auxillary coolers are a must for beach driving with an automatic. I use B&M Racing 'plate & fin' or 'stacked plate' design. More efficient and effective than 'tube and fine' type. Here is a link to the model I use. Keeps transmission below 180 when driving on the beach with 18 psi tires.
