    im mean not a 69 a 96 tranny, my bad.

    umm my buddie had the same problem but he swaped a 69 tranny to a 97 motor, there is a little sensor that easly gets damaged in the process and its on the passenger side of the tranny at the bottom, my bet would be check that out and see if there is any damage to that sensor and replace if needed. and its not a cheap one just letting you know.

    I have a 89 cherokee and a i did a motor,tranny,trans, swap from a 95 . everything went well exept for the tranny doesnt shift i have to manualy shift it Why please help
