This Jeep has a 100,000 miles on it and had only one owner. The old man got freaked out when the rear axle went out and gave it to my mechanic. Before the axle issue it was running sound and not a dent on the body or crack on the windows or windshield.
I just bought this 88 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer for $700 and about to buy a new rear axle for it. I'm naming it the Bone Collector. I want a 3 or 4.5in lift but I do not know what brand (BDS, Rough Country, SkyJacker, or Rubicon Express) to buy. I plan on getting 15x10 Mickey Thompson Sidebitter rims and for tires size I want to get 33 x 12.5R15 (I also need some input on what tire would be best to get) that will be good on streets and my hunting area which has a lot of sand, mud, and sand rock. I see a lot of Xj's with BFG T/A KM2's and with Mickey Thompson MTZ's but still don't know which tire has better tread life. I'm going to prep and spray paint it with OD Green to allow cheap touch ups. If I have money still within my budget I will get some Bushwacker flares for it or a Hanson Pre-runner front winch bumper. I have no experience in 4x4's or modifying one. Im in need of some advice from experienced members please comment!!!!
