I am not really sure on this, because all my friends have a 99 and older Cherokee so i have never really messed with any of the coil pack motors, just distributors but there is a lot of people on here that can help you out...

Hey how is it going I'm new to this site wondering if you could help me out with some knowledge ... I have a 2001 xj 4.0 the engine is done major over heating ...I now have a 1997 tj 4.0 engine .. Pretty much the long block ...what do I have to do to install the tj motor in the xj body I under stand the xj has coil packs ....
