Newbie

NEED HELP ASAP. ok i am a first time owner of a 96 grand cherokee laredo i6 4.0 i have been reading up on the transfer case the np249 and want to swap it out for a 242 is it a direct swap or do i (like the V8 guys) have to swap out the input shaft/planetary gear due to the length?
