Will later model jk wheels fit a 07 wk?
I have an opportunity to buy a used set of factory 2017 17in. Wrangler factory wheels & tires in like new condition for my 2007 Grand Cherokee (16in. wheels). If you have done this would you let me know if the JK wheels/tires will fit directly onto my WK or if I need some sort of adapter?
If adapter/spacers are needed do you know of any issues or problems using these such as changes to the alignment, steering, braking, handling, etc.? I appreciate your input. CORRECTION: My WK has 17in wheels, not 16, sorry about that. https://images.craigslist.org/01313_...4_1200x900.jpg |
anyone have anything for me on this?

According to the following linked chart 2016 Wrangler wheels will fit, same bore size and lug pattern as Grand Cherokee. The 2005-20010 GC comes with wheels between 16" and 20" so I imagine 17 would work fine.

Thank you Steve, good links, I was hoping someone who has done this already would post their comment so I know whether or not I need adapters/spacers. I guess I'm gonna have to measure for backspace.

i have those wheels on my 07 overland. the wheels fit on the back but need a 1/4" spacer on the front to clear the brake rotor. the lug nuts are long enough to use with out replacing. the 255/70/17 tires may not clear the pinch weld on the front fendersit can be folded over or install a lift. good luck

nvrdone1, thanks for input, especially on the tire size, what size tires are on your Overland's JK rims? and where exactly is the "pinch weld" on the WK's front fender?
|
ive got 265/65/17 yokohama geolander g015's & they are great. but i did have to modify the hitch to clear the spare. but that's a story for another day.
The pinch weld is where the body is welded together & is on the firewall side of the inner fender. its covered by a bump in the plastic fender liner. you need to remove the liner, cut slots in the pinch weld & fold it over with a big hammer. there are you tube videos on how to do it. |
Wondering what result is here. I thought that JK rims only fit WJs.

I have not pulled the trigger on this yet. Still unsure how they will fit and and how they will affect my ride.
|
the rims will not change how the jeep rides or handles. that's a result of what tires you use - a shorter sidewall ( 50 series etc ) or an LT tire will rid harder than a P metric tire or one with a 65 or 70 series tire. the shorter the side wall and the stiffer the tire the worse the ride is.
I'd grab them & see how they feel. the Goodyear Wrangler is more of a passenger / street tire than a mud / off road tire. if you don't like them, sell them. |
