Rear locker on quadra-trac zj
Hi, I have a 1996 Grand Cherokee 5.2L with Quadra-Track and i want to put a rear locker. I have been said that it cannot be put on.
The rear axle says that it’s a Dana with this numbers on it (96-073 and 46590-1)
Can I put a locker on it and what’s the better option?

If that's the aluminum center D44a, he's right. There is no aftermarket locker available for it.

This Spartan Locker is the best bang for your buck "locker" you will find for the D44A (also known as the D44 HD). I use air-quotes, because many people wont justify this as a locker, even though it does lock right-left tires. Good BUY!!

Because its lunchbox. I know so many people that without it being a full lock, electronic or air, that its not the same. "You cant even compare those with an ARB locker!" But i can buy 4 Spartan lockers for less than an ARB Air Locker

I would rather have an auto locker that a selectable, they are more reliable because you don't have to rely on air, cable, or electric to engage them. Also off-road with a front selectable you have to keep locking and unlocking it so you can steer good but an auto locker in the front works when you need it and still allows you to steer.
