Default Sell or part out

94 Grand Cherokee, runs well but AC doesn't work and doors don't line up perfect so it leaks. The AC is about $1100 to fix.

It has a 4.0, 3.5 inch lift, Dana 44a in back that was rebuilt about 2 months ago. Pinion bearing needs to be replaced so 4x4 is out. Shop checked out tranny and transfer case, both fine. Also has set of 5 Rubicon wheels with 33" mud terrain tires, 2 of which are new.

I need AC. It's the south, it's hot. If I sell I'm thinking I would be lucky to get $1500. If I part out maybe $900 for tires and rims? $800 for rebuilt Dana 44a?

Any advice would be great thanks! Oh, and I am going to replace it with another Jeep, zj or xj.

parting out can be a pain unless you have time and the room to store it. and once you start down that road you are committed.

Then theres finding boxes the parts will fit (if its a large part, try a furniture shop for empty boxes). Packing materials (tape, bubblewrap, etc.). Shipping charges. Insurance or no insurance (always a good idea to include that). Smaller items are easier to ship than large/heavy items so make a list of what you would rather ship and what you would rather not. Then you have face to face purchases (i like having a friend present, just in case there is a problem). Lots to consider.

Good point. I'll try to sell the Jeep as is. It will probably sit for a while but that's ok. Thanks for the advice.
