Can you guys tell me what kind of lift I have?
Hi all,
Just purchased a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Orvis edition. I bought it from a dealer and it's lifted but he didn't mention what kind of lift is on it. With these pictures can you please tell me what's been done to it?

I can't really tell what lift it is, but someone went crazy with the purple paint. You do have some pretty decent shocks on it though.

Yea, a lot of purple lol...
The shocks being blisteins that is worth the money, but seems like good setup. They have a good amount of components; track bar, adjustable arms

plug in the shock's part number and that will at least give you a range of the lift height, provided of course that the original owner installed the correct shocks for the lift.
how much did you pick it up for from the dealer?

it looks like you have Rusty's adjustable high clearance lower control arms which someone painted purple.
i'm not sure about the adjustable double shear track bar. it looks like a pretty good quality unit with drop bracket.
don't know about the coils, but if the control arms are rustys, i'm sure the rest probably is too.
the center link on your steering just looks stock but painted purple.
looks like bilstein 5100 shocks. good quality there.
and you have a dana 44a aluminum center stock rear diff since you have a v8.
looks pretty good to me. if you want to know lift height, just measure yours and compare it to a stock one, but consider your larger than stock tires.
but the shocks however, are installed upside down. not that it would make much difference, but they are designed to be the other way.

The best way to measure for a comparison is measure from the center of the wheel to the top of the fender opening. That will not change with tire diameter.
