Nice lookin WJ! My oldest daughter's is the same color, but hers has dark brown cladding. There should be spots in the front bumper for the foglight install...

There are some threads on using Krylon for painting the body cladding. May want to use photoshop or something to see how it will look before you do it. I believe the original color is grey...not faded black.

2000 Grand Cherokee Console Lid
Hey all, new to the site and still unsure how to navigate it...have a question maybe someone can answer for me. I have two Grand Cherokees, one has the 4.7 and the other, the 4.0...the lid on the console of the 4.7 has two different odd looking things. One has tabs that look like something should click into them...the other spot, Idk. Has a compartment with a slit in it. Anyone know what these are for and where I can get whatever it is that fills those spaces?

Guess I should have added that I'm unsure if the 4.0 Jeep has this as it's at the garage I work at and I haven't had the chance to look. Prepping that beaut for a little more off road ability. It's stock but for exhaust and minor mods as in home made tow hooks on front and a massive system.

Looks nice man. Do some research before painting the plastic trim. If you don't clean and prep it properly the paint will end up just chipping and peeling off. As for wheels check summit they usually have good deals on steel wheels and even ebay usually has a set of 4 for right at 200 or less. Good luck with it look forward to seeing how it turns out

Old fart with a wrench
Here's mine a week after I bought it in 2011. I was going to paint my side cladding and bumpers satin black, but I saw a white ZJ with black cladding and wasn't sure I liked the look of it. The official name of the color of the cladding is Medium Driftwood Metallic. I was going to put in a 2" lift, but decided against it because I didn't want to screw up a good thing. This is my DD and only vehicle that I use when delivering newspapers. It has never let me down even when I punched a snowbank. Low range reverse got me out! It's a 4.0 with 242 t/case. I did, however spice it up a little with the zebra stripes! Remember this jeep has the infamous 0331 head that is known to crack. Mine did at 155K miles. It just yesterday clicked over at 197K still running strong. The best and cheapest thing I added was the window vent shades. I can keep the windows open almost 2" without getting rained on.

I bought a cheap pair of amber 2x5 foglights from Amazon and they work super. I had to replace the cheap Chinese bulbs after 3 days, but refitted them with Hella and they lasted over a year using them all the time at night. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow.
