Do you know which 4WD system you have? It's printed in front of the shift levers. If it's SELEC-TRAC, you can leave the shifter in 2WD for better gas mileage. It it's QUADRA-TRAC I, QUADRA-TRAC II, or QUADRA-DRIVE, there's nothing really you can do, although I'd recommend using a fuel system cleaner, making sure your spark plugs are goo, , and keeping up on regular maintenance (such as oil and filter changes), all of which can affect gas mileage. Make sure you use high mileage oil for optimal performance and gas mileage as well. I wouldn't remove the front driveshaft, as you never know when you'll need the 4WD. Plus, it's a pain to remove the front driveshaft (I used to have a 2005 4.7L Grand Cherokee and I had to have my front driveshaft replaced due to the original one wearing out... the mechanic who did the work said how much a pain it was to remove and replace, so obviously I wouldn't recommend it unless you need to replace the driveshaft).

Dear Sir,

yes it is a quadra-drive, i am using BP Visco full synthetic engine oil, main reason to remove front axle is to increase the acceleration, this car has lot of torque, climbs over the bridge without any change in RPM, i have changes several chassis and engine components, new radiator/thermostat/IACV/TPS/air temp sensor/mopar spark plugs/fuel filter(was very dirty)/front and read shock and springs (JDM)/all 7 control arms/water pump/air filter and many more, i use mopar fuel system cleaner once a month

only one more problem the check engine light comes on now and then, checked the code, it was oxygen sensor, changed all of the oxygen sensors, but still light comes on, as per one of the mechanics, the head gasket is cracked, so one of the sensors are detecting water - i dont know weather it is correct

the car is running very well, the fuel mileage has gone better, just need to add some extra acceleration

thanks and regards
Hasan
