Off-topic should be taken off post-count to make it easier for ppl to distinguish the more experienced ppl on the forum.
I do not, and never will, base someone's knowledge off of their post count. What I pay attention to is the content of their posts. Example: 5-90, look him up. His post count is very low, but I can assure you, he is one of the most experienced, and intelligent people on this site. Quality over quantity, always...

I too never judge someones knowledge off their count but it simply would make it easier. The site shouldn't include off-topic crap in the count. I think out of all my posts.. the little that there is... I've had maybe one or two off-topic.

But for newbs coming on the site and for other members it would make sense to limit the count to only tech, fab, ect., threads.

Its a simple change. Why should it be counted? What good does it do? None.

A post is a post, period. Every forum that I'm a part of, and there is a bunch, work this way, and we will continue to work this way, although I appreciate your input! If a n00b joins the board, and thinks that a high post count equates knowledge, they will learn that lesson very quickly, IMHO. I consider that to be common sense, which, I'm amazed by the lack thereof these days!!

I dont even look at a persons post count, and IF I do, its after I have read what they have to say..
I do not see the post count as a measure of knowledge. I read what they have to say and take it as I see fit.
If you dont like it, try to find another forum that does not count "off topic" in your post count, Its harder than you think.

What good does it do? None.
What good does *****ing about it do? None. Theyre not gonna change the rules because of what a few people out of 3,183 active members have to say.

I may not like some of the rules here either, but you dont see me complaining about them (very often)

I was nowhere near complaining. Simply sharing my opinion and I took this thread as an opportunity to do so.

I may not like it but I can't change what I can't control. And I certainly can't change other people opinions obviously.

Frankly it doesn't matter cause this forum is free.... and I can see how its run. So I'll take what I can get.

Sorry I even brought it up.

I have to admit, that is not how it came across to me either.

This post makes it sound like you got your feelers hurt, and that in no way was my intent?!? I wasn't going to say a word, as I'm over it, really. It has been brought up again, so I'm adding my &.02 worth. I have to say I agree with the Gimp here. It's all good, as now I understand what you were trying to say. You have to see where we could have been confused though??? Have a good one, and enjoy the board!!

RAMAC, effectively there are some users with a high post count that post mostly in the off topic section, but i assure you that you will know who is who and what he does in the tech section in a while, when you'll be going through all the tech threads and it's basically always the same dozen of people around, who answer all the questions and give the informations.
