Default Passtime me

Got my 6.0L Cherokee swap ready for the track. Who wants to take a guess at what I run!
Planning on taking it to the track tomorrow, Friday.

2wd Cherokee, XJ. I'd guess it weighs about 3500 with me.
The 6.0L is an LQ4, stock except for an LS1 intake and the shorty headers. 2-1/2" Y-pipe into a cheap 3" muffler and 3" tailpipe.
CAI, yes it really IS cold air.
4.10 rear gears with limited slip.
4L80e
235/55-17 tires.
Electric rad fan. No cooling issues at all with this setup.

I've done nothing tune wise, just played with the shift settings.

It does not hook in 1st or 2nd gear on the street. I have to pedal it in 1st & 2nd to keep it straight.
It runs clean and strong right now.

I've run several of my trucks at this track so I know what I'm doing. I'm confident that I'll do about as good with this setup as anyone can.

The track is a good track, certified for Top Fuel. The temps should be around 95 tomorrow.

There, I've been as honest and upfront as I can be. Your guess is as good as mine.

Post your guesses below. I'll update tomorrow evening as the racing progresses.

My first guess is 10 seconds. Nice round number. Honestly I have no idea, not a drag race guy, haha

My second guess is DNQ. Because **** happens at the track, LOL

Good luck. I am curious, though, let us know how you did!

what's the (estimated) horsepower? 300-325 range?

mid to high 13'[email protected] in the 1/4
with a 1.9 60ft time, IF you're quick off the tree.

but i'm thinking more like mid 14'[email protected] with a 2.6 in the 60ft

hope you do better... good luck

what tire? positrac? that setup will prob trap 103ish. id guess a 2.5 or slower short time assuming a street tire and peg leg. 14.3 @ 103.

Sorry to put a damper on your enthusiasm but the beast is not ready for the track. The HP Tuners learning curve is getting the best of me. I thought I'd have it close enough to be safe but not so. This weekend will be a crash course on how to tune your 6.0L Cherokee.

But don't stop guessing, I'm going to beat this thing

I'd say in the high 13s to low 15 range.

Maybe you already addressed this, but one thing that would concern me is if the uni-body can take that much HP/torque without twisting out of shape.

XJ chassis bodies were designed to handle anything a lowly 4.0 190 HP engine can throw at it.

Well I was thinking the same thing before I began this project. I thought that if you guys can put big tires and axles on them, and pound them while wheeling over big rocks, I didn't think I would be doing any worse. The body is not getting twisted driving on pavement. At the moment I don't have enough traction to generate much twisting force under torque. Maybe when I get wider sticker tires things will change. I'll run it till I see problems, and then move onto another project.

If you get enough traction to really hook up, you might rip out the upper control arms! The lower ones would be under compression.

out of curiosity...what's not safe? every stock cam swap we've done was close enough on the factory tune that there was no danger. if i had the laptop here i'd say send me a log. those truck engines had very little timing in them from the factory.
