This is what the back of my 94 looks like at the moment. I'm looking for a scrap yard to haul away the remains. Engine, trans, rear axle, and miscellaneous parts pulled for sale, and the carcass needs to go.

The holes are the result of cannibalizing the 94 to repair a rusted out frame rail on my 97. We cut out the donor piece, and cut out the rusted section, and welded in the donor piece. Cutting out the floor of the 94 was just a shortcut - the 97 got the frame rail removed with the floor intact. Lots of drilling of spot welds.

The hole on the driver's side was to obtain a practice piece where the cross member meets the frame rail. That needed to be figured out and re-welded, so we practiced a bit first.

I wrote about it and posted pics here. I should probably do a decent write up on that project.

Driver's side practice piece cut out.

Hack and whack!

The parts are moving.... slowly. I'm hoping to get this carcass hauled away today. The engine and trans got pulled yesterday (using the Kubota engine lift).

I'll hang on to what I think might sell, but I've got to get this junker out of here. My place is looking a little too hillbilly these days.

It's always sad to see an XJ die, but it happens. I paid $1000 for this one and got 4 years of good driving out of it with very few problems. Had it not been for the computer problem, I might still be driving it. Can't complain.
