I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these type of wrenchs. I never was one for gadgets, but these look to be fairly handy ! I was just wondering how they hold up ? Are these just another cheap gadget, like some of the Sears Craftsman flukes of past, or are they a viable and reliable tool ?

Gear Wrench brand, or a Harbor Freight racheting wrench?
Gear Wrench brand is good to go. I was a mechanic with Honda/Acura for around 12 years, and used them daily. Never broke one.

Good to hear! They just look handier than a pocket in your underwear! I assumed that you wouldn't abuse them by breaking bolts free. Gonna have to put that on my list ! Who doesn't love more tools !!!

I use thier ratcheting wrenches, and love them. My stepdad brought his set to the yards the other year and i liked them so much, i bought my own. Theyve gotten plenty of use and have yet to give me any trouble.

I have many gear wrench tools and like them I would say they are a tad higher grade then the craftsman now. I used the small 8mm ratcheting reversible wrench today removing drive shaft and one of the bolts was stuck pretty good and managed to break it loose without stripping out the gears in the wrench.

I like mine. Usually you can get the 32 piece set, 20 regular and 12 stubbys for about $75. Also purchased the flex heads. 7 piece set in metric and standard for about $30 each. Just to be safe I try to not break bolts with the ratcheting wrenches but I bet they can hold up to a certain degree. What I am really happy about is that I broke down and bought were these Gearwrenches.

Picked these up for about $78 a couple years back. I try to use only 6 pt wrenches and sockets whenever possible.
