Default mobile mechanic

Ad for certified mobile mechanic. Certified for what, to take your car apart in the street on bare asphalt? Looks like a staged picture, a bunch of tiny hand tools and only the tire is removed. Fail

i mean, you want him to show up on a full fledged service truck with a nice mobile garage as well? Would a better picture have been of him pulling a motor? I agree there are tons of dumb craigslist postings, but i dont see anything wrong here.

I'm gonna take a stance in between you guys. I don't think it's terrible, but I wouldn't call him myself. I'd want to see his truck, his toolkit, or something to indicate that he's capable. A list of services he can provide would be nice, too.

That ad looks lazy as hell, and I wouldn't trust him with my address.

Spolier alert: That's the car he shows up in.

That's what I suspect, and that's a red flag for me with such limited information

Poor presentation. No jackstands. Not even a scissor lift, that many vehicles come with. One should always have one, just in case the owner does not. Either way, use something other than a jack. I also dont see any wheel chocks, unless theres one on the driver side rear. Last thing id want is someone ending up with a vehicle crashing down on them because they "dont need no stinking jackstand", or the jack fails and the vehicle slides just enough because there were no wheel chocks and a leg gets pinched under the rotor, or the jack is pushed ontop of a hand. Or worse.

Thats what i see looking at that ad - an accident waiting to happen. And a huge headache for who ever owns the vehicle.

Came across this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Storag...w7Gc:rk:1:pf:0

Trying to think how that is even possible. OK so mine is not a Jeep one. Has the Lido name on it. Is used and needs a new lock. And I paid $50 local to me off Craigslist about 2 years ago and was thinking it was a bit much but also figured I would never see one again in my lifetime.

I don't really pay much attention to 2 door XJ stuff but thinking this is not a bad price.

I came across these guys today. If I had a clean garage I would totally invest in a nice set up. Honestly, looking at the materials and time, not bad prices either.
