Not even sure why this topic seems to be turning into some type of argument....oh yeah...that's the internet.
Hey Fred/NOAZZ,
I messed around with my setup a little more, I grounded my hood to body with some 10ga wire, it's all I had. Going to make up some bradied ground straps. But anyways, it didn't make a bit of difference. I did some more testing and this is what I have. I have fuel pump noise coming through antenna, when I turn the key to on and the pump comes on. It does goes away when I unplug antenna. I have ignition pulse noise through radio with or without antenna plugged in while Jeep is running. So basically while the jeep is running and CB is on, I'm getting fuel pump whine and ignition noise.
So my plan is to ground the hood to body with good quality braided ground strap, then ground the exhaust to body with same stuff. My radio is wired to the battery with 14ga wire, twisted as it goes from the interior and out to the battery. I was able to tune my radio to 1.3 swr at channel 1 and at channel 40. I know that's a "acceptable" number, wouldn't mind it being lower though. Was thinking maybe make a ground strap from the JCR antenna mount to the body as well? I've never had so much noise coming through my radio, it's starting to drive me nuts because I know it should be better then this.

they sell noise suppressors that go in line with the power. Basically just a choke to "squeeze" out the noise You can try that....also wondering if they sell a dc to dc converter cheap enough to where it would be worth it to put that in. You would need a DC to DC converter that isolates the input from the output.
also it's been a few years since I messed with cb, but I know there are nylon washers in the antenna base; if it or they (1 or 2?) is not there it can play havoc.

There was one nylon washer that went under the antenna, that's on there. My SWR is decent so I don't suspect a major issue, just more of a annoyance.
This N-700 suppressor from Navone engineering was one that was recommended to me, I may give it a shot. http://davidnavone.com/product/n-700...ressor-25-amp/

Check to be sure your spark plugs are resistor type, then check the plug wires for any issues there and the cap/rotor. The fuel pump may require an RF suppressor as no easy way to add ground strap to the frame from the pump itself.
As far as an argument I'm to old for that crap I'm done, like you said its the internet
