Where should I look for my Viper alarm fuse?

I have a 1999 2 door Jeep Cherokee. It has an aftermarket Viper alarm with remote start. I disconnected the battery and when I reconnected it and tried to start it I heard like a loud click and the car wouldn't start. I checked the terminals and tightened them and then started it and it started right up. The only difference is now the alarm light on the inside of the vehicle isn't lit up. I am thinking the fuse for the alarm is what the click/pop was. It could very well be something else too, but the alarm has never stopped working after battery disconnect / reconnect before and that is the only thing that was different about the situation.

Where should I start to look for the fuse for this alarm? I followed the RF receiver that is by the rearview mirror down to under the steering wheel. I looked there and I do not see an inline fuse*. Should I pull that plastic part under the steering wheel and look better? I just want to get an idea of where I should be looking before I start pulling things off that maybe do not need to be pulled off.

*Reason why I'm looking for an inline fuse is because the alarm is aftermarket. It was already on the vehicle when I bought it.

Thanks again guys. Love this forum.

Im not that familiar with viper as a brand bc we do mainly Compustars but i know when the battery is disconnected or drains to low usually the starter is kicked into Valet mode and needs to be reset

That's EXACTLY what happened. I opened the kick panel below the wheel got the # off the brain of the alarm and downloaded the PDF manual. Then I talked to someone at Directed and they walked me through getting it out of valet mode and reprogramming the fob. Both things had happened. I called twice. First guy told me I had to goto a dealer. Second guy easily walked me through it.
