Tweeter
I’m trying to make the Jeep’s appearance still look stock as much as possible while updating the entire audio system. I added a new radio and all 4 speakers. My jeep didn’t come with the infinity tweeter.I was wondering if you buy the INFINITY tweeter panal that goes next to your mirrors. Do I still have to crossover?

If you can find the factory Infinity tweeters chances are you are going to pay. I got lucky and found some shipped for $40. Going rate is usual around a $100. They do have a built crossover and you should have the plugs in the doors to make them plug and play. I circled the crossover and make sure that tab I also circled is not broken when you buy some.

The tweeters are wired in parallel with the front door speakers. I wouldn't assume you'd need a crossover since the tweeters already have crossovers built-in. You might, however, need to splice into the factory front door speaker wiring. Jeep doesn't prewire for features that aren't there. :p
While you're at it, I'd also try and replace the factory front door and rear headliner speakers with the Infinity ones (or otherwise aftermarket ones) and add the factory Infinity mini-amplifiers that mount onto the sides of the front door speakers. They power the all of the speakers on their respective sides of the system (i.e. left front and rear speakers are controlled by the left front door speaker amp, and right front and rear speakers are controlled by the right front door speaker amp). |
