Subs
 

When I got my jeep it was already wired for subs. May as well put those cables to good use. The thing is I practically know nothing about subs. My idea is to potentially have two smaller ones on each side of my trunk so its more balanced sound and I can still lay down my spare tire in the trunk. I already Google a little bit... still confused really... I also couldn't find much about putting in two, like if the would both need a cable to the battery or if I could jump the power from the other one. Any help and thoughts will be nice.

Read some articles or watch YouTube videos about basic car audio. Like "car audio 101" kinda stuff.

Basically you have your head unit and speakers. Adding Subwoofers requires an amplifier, possibly a capacitor, the subwoofers, boxes/enclosures, and all the necessary wires/cable. There are a million of everything to choose from. Different power output maps, different size subs, different style boxes ect. The list goes on. Just start very basic and learn about the stuff before making decisions or spending any money.

Something to keep in mind is that the rear cargo area gets filled up quickly. If you lay the spare tire down and have a slim truck style box on either side of the tire, that will pretty much take up the entire area lol

I made a box that fit in passenger side almost like they sell but mine is a little bigger and it works great and it's out of the way

does it ever sound like its just coming from the passenger side or do you not notice it

No, subs on one side in the back will sound balanced. It's not close enough to sound uneven and it's behind you so that helps it sound centered even more.

But, some radios (head units) have a small mic you hang above where you sit and than run a test and the radio will adjust the output on the speakers so the music reaches you at the same time to make it perfectly even sounding to your ears. Usually higher end radios have that option so if you think it will bother you, look at higher end head units.

You also get a small 8" bass cannon, or even a 5" bass cannon and use that. We bought a jeep that had one in the back and I was very surprised at home much it filled out the music when driving. It was a cheapie Amazon or ebay bass cannon and worked great. Bass cannons usually have their amps built in so you just have to run power, remote, ground, and speakers.

No I can't tell take it is only on one side when I turn it up it fills the jeep ,

One sub is fine. Low frequency is Omni directional. You won’t be able to tell what direction it’s coming from.
