I'm not into all the tech wire stuff, I can just say that I have a few broken wires in my back hatch junction, and a couple in my drivers door. I've always read that solid core is better wire but not flexible, strand better for that. Broken wire in 1000's of cherokees on this forum would agree that the wire was the wrong choice for flexible joints.

I am saying a stranded one would have broken SOONER. Thats why its in home audio, so people can run it around the room easily. With stranded, the individual strands can break and the wire "holds up". From a pure sound perspective, solid core is the best, but you usually see it over shorter lengths in home audio. But since you are not going to re run in the body of a car its not moving, solid core holds up (everywhere else).

Splicing into a different wire, and then back to solid core would be worse.

The other thing is that this is common wire, not specialized speaker wire. Its the same stuff they buy for all the other power and control wires all over the place.
