No, I don't lick fish.
Ah... well nevermind then.
Did.... did you not read OD's reply 14 minutes before you posted this? He just said they are DOT approved.
Correct - they are better than DOT spec but illegal for road use in the U.S. I'm not expecting any problems, but I guess if a cop had a sharp eye, noticed the lack of DOT approval markings, and wanted to make an issue of it a ticket could come my way. I'm not losing any sleep over it.

The Truck-Lite led replacements are plug and play, yeah? I don't understand the advantage of the putco harness if the leds draw less power than the standard stuff.

Autopal offers their H4 conversion kits in both DOT-approved and E-Code models. I purchased the Euro version which has no DOT approval markings on the boxes or the housings.

I have the TL's, and no harness. They are the shiz. That said, if you decide to do the harness and the TL's, nothing wrong with that. Can't go wrong with better wire, LOL

I think it is a great idea, you should get two pair and 10,000 is the absolute best light spectrum or the human eye..
Post up pics when you get them...
Im sure they will be absolutely cool and the best thing since slick 50 ..
Looking forward to your review...
You could cut the grill and add a second set...

E-code headlights are perfectly legal in some areas. It's a state-by-state regulation deal. I know for a fact that here, in Washington, ECE approved (E-code) headlights are legal for on-road use, just the same as DOT lights.
I had to look this up when I noticed that the Truck-Lites I installed were actually ECE versions, and not the typical DOT version that people buy here. The difference in light output is limited to the cutoff line. E-codes do this: __/___/__ when projected onto a wall, where DOT beams have a straight cutoff pattern. Also, the ECE Truck-Lites have extra LED's in the center of the lenses, that can be hooked up to an alternative power source, like running lights.

How many of you have been pulled over and ticketed because your h4 headlight housings were no legal?
I bet less than you have for speeding or other traffic violations...
don't worry about the headlight housings be more worried about the kilo of Coke and dead hooker in the trunk..

Fine then, LIVE hooker in the trunk.
I am more concerned that his XJ has a trunk.
I did a headlamp box conversion with simple halogen lights, but removing the entire bulb. Way brighter and a very inexpensive option for just "better".
