headlamp inspection
 
Okay so i went to get my 97 inspected yesterday in texas they said the headlamps to not meet regulations, still trying to figure out what that means, I have projector housings. with one Led bulb and one HID (Currently swapping to HID) any ideas on what they mean? maybe my light bars?

Your headlights are not DOT approved.

Most likely the housings but probably would get flagged for both.

Not necessarily OEM only. There are aftermarket DOT approved systems such as the one in the link below. Also you need upgrade the headlight harness anytime you upgrade from OEM unless they're LED's.

I'm betting they flagged you for the HID retrofits as they're illegal on cars not originally equipped.. Applicable law: 49 C.F.R. Part 571.108 (FMVSS 108)
