CB antenna mounted in factory antenna spot

I was wondering if anyone has mounted a CB antenna in the factory antenna hole? I bought a CB and thought I could wire it to the stock antenna, but I couldn't. I really don't like most of the ways people mount their CB's. So if you have pictures or any information that would be appreciated.

Short answer yes a good location for a high quality antenna mounted there.

You will need a ground strap ran from the fender to a chassis ground to work properly both areas brought down to bare metal for the strap as well as the top of the fender where the antenna comes into contact with it. These are very important to make it work properly also a ground strap ran from the hood to the chassis ground as it is your ground plane for the antenna and what makes it work properly and how well.

You could wire the CB to your stock AM/FM antenna with a converter box, but you won't be happy with the performance. https://www.amazon.com/AM-FM-CB-Ante...ntenna+adapter

Are you against a fenderlip mount on the driver side? or a through roof mount?
