Aftermarket Audio systems and factory backup camera
My wife and I are looking to purchase a Cherokee to tow behind our motorhome. It will probably be a 2017 or newer.
The wife insists she wants an in dash radio with built in nav system. I know not the best way to go, but that's what she wants.
I just had a conservation with Crutchfield. They informed me there isn't an aftermarket radio that will work with the factory backup camera. If true, has anyone done a mod to use the factory camera.
TIA
Eric

Wouldn't most 2017 or newer models already have a Nav system in the factory head unit? Just find one that does.
BTW, I assume you already know you need to find a Cherokee with the Active Drive II transfer case in order to flat tow. Only the Trailhawk models come standard with that. Much rarer on other trims.

Just buy a Cherokee with the RA4 (U Connect 3C navigation) radio already equipped... it's a lot just to upgrade the factory head unit to an aftermarket one, and you'd most likely lose some factory-equipped features. Even if you just get one with the "basic" 8.4" screen (U Connect 3, or RA3), nav CAN be added for a small fee.
