Hey all!
I've decided to use some of my tax return to improve the sound in my Jeep. As usual, I feel like I've gotten in over my head. Last summer, I ordered some Kenwood stuff from Crutchfield (KDC-BT555U and 4 KFC-1394PS) to replace the factory stuff, and that went in pretty well. But now I'm looking at adding a bit more bass.
I've kind of settled on the Subthump "Cargo Stealth Enclosure", as it's a very clean look. Certainly much nicer looking than the XJ-Pod. But what I'm getting lost on is the huge number of subwoofers and amps out there. I was thinking I'd just stick with Kenwood stuff, in case of compatibility issues, but the Crutchfield CSR said there should be nothing like that. She suggested Rockford Fosgate (which I've never even heard of). Then she launched into a discussion on box size and stuffing, ohms, DVC and SVC.
It was over my head.
So have any of you used the Stealth Enclosure or the XJ-Pod with any success? What combination of amp/sub did you use?

Okay, so how about the Rockford Fosgate R2SD4-10 4 ohm sub. Shallow mount. Crutchfield says it needs a .7' sealed box, and the SubThump says theirs is .3....but I can use polyfill to "fool" the speaker. Mate that up with a Rockford Fosgate R250X1 Prime amp. Should be good to hook, right?

I know this is a old post but I came across it because i'm trying to build a xj pod, (is what they call them I guess) wanted to know how does it get screwed on? tips if you can remember.
I have a Boss Diablo 10" stealth sub with a subthump box and a Lanzar 800 dual amp it give the Jeep a nice vibe and kick while not being obnoxious to the people outside. (sorry for the old phone quality) I'm very happy with the sound and for the price you can't beat it.
I have a 500w 2 channel amplifier for my 12inch subwoofer with a 160watt headunit in my 2001 XJ and wanted to get a 4channel amp, probably around 350w I'm guessing, to connect to my 4 speakers so I can play my music louder. I was wondering if this will be too much power for my stock battery or alternator to handle and cause me to upgrade one of them. Let me know if you have any knowledge, thanks.
