'Trans' Fuse blows whenever i turn the key over
Hey..
I have an 89 MJ and the trans fuse blows everytime i put a new one in and turn the key over.. Does this mean i have a bad ground or something ? Looking for suggestions to fix this.. Where do i start ? Also, I'm assuming this is the fuse that allows my reverse lights to work, because they never have ??? Thanks. PS - Be prepared for follow up questions, cause this isn't my only electrical issue with this thing ! |
Unplug the NSS see if fuse still blows.

The Power/Comfort switch can be shorted inside causing your issue. Unplug it and then put a new fuse in and see what happens.
And if you're gonna have it out, it will most likely break. Here's what I do on every one I work on: Bypassing the Power/Comfort Switch on a Renix Jeep Remove and unplug the switch. In the harness are 3 wires One has a stripe, one is tan, and the other black. Make a 4" jumper wire with a male spade at each end. Plug one end in the cavity for the tan wire and the other in the cavity for the striped wire and you'll be in permanent Power mode. Stuff the harness back in and reinstall the switch for looks. |
sorry.. i should have mentioned. it's a 2.5L 2wd 4 speed manual..
