Question for anyone that has an MJ Factory Console
This is from my post in Comanche Club, thought I would post it here as well.
Have a question for those of you that have factory consoles. Are they supposed to be offset to the driver side? http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...emporary_3.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...emporary_1.jpg My XJ's console is evenly spaced between the seats. The Eliminator had the brackets already in there, but the original console couldn't be found by the PO's family. Just looks strange. The console lines up with the original console's impressions in the carpet, so, it seems it was like this from the factory. Jerry |
They are the same console. It could just be that your drivers seat is worn down and is sagging in that direction.

I think the only difference between the XJ and XJ consoles is the black piece on top with the slot for the e-brake handle on the XJ and no rear ash tray on the back of the MJ console, right?

My full console is factory and the sole difference between it and the one in my 92 XJ is the solid filler piece where the e-brake is in the XJ. Full console from an early XJ should be a direct swap in MJs. Though, I think they don't have the metal bracket that XJs have but iirc it's a direct swap as well.

Mine actually has the ashtray and I know for a fact that it's original. It doesn't however have the rear HVAC vent nor does it have the tubing for it.
