Different Gauge Swap Question
 

I'm back on this forum again after finding a 1990 Comanche and picking it up a couple weeks ago. I'd like to do the updated, non-dummy light clusters but dont want to switch from a column **** and would like to see what gear I'm in.

Would it be possible to buy the replacement cluster and move the gauges over to the dummy cluster, just replacing them in the locations of where they would be with the new swap, (and would i need to move the electrical circuit board/backing over as well).

OR, would it be possible to just buy the gauges that i need (Oil pressure, small fuel level, volt meter, coolant level, and tach) and plug those in? I know i would need to update the sensors for oil/temp.

I have done that myself.

Honestly it's easier for ya just to swap the gauge clusters and cut out the slot for the PRNDL indicator on the tach. Instead of moving everything over to the dummy housing.

Damn, I knew it wouldn't be plug and play, but i did not expect it to be THAT different. Thanks for the response! (i found an eBay cluster that had cracked glass so i figured id just swap it over, now ill go a different route)
