So once I repair the wreck damage, I still need to address the driving issues it's having. It has a stumble and backfire under slight load around 2000 rpms. Mostly I've been doing basic maintenance items hoping something will get it. I've done plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter (a few), tested the fuel pressure and with a good filter it's at the right pressures, the cat has been removed in hopes it may have been causing some of the issues, muffler blew up so it's not constricting it, runs at the correct temperature, I know it has an exhaust leak at the manifold but it isn't any worse than the one my Cherokee had and it ran fine. (I'd like to replace the header with something aftermarket, but not sure how all the egr stuff works and not sure what can and can't be removed and it still run well) I would like to get some new injectors (and planned to before I had even driven the jeep for the first time since I liked the 4 hole injectors in my Cherokee, not part of the parts cannon), I've tried a different tps, adjusted my tps correctly, cleaned the throttle body and probably more I'm forgetting. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions. I'm desperate for help.

Well I got a new radiator in it and got it all back together, but now it runs hot and I don't know why. So far it's just been a test run.

If understand correctly, I turn it to TDC on the first cylinder compression stroke, cut the locating tabs off the distributor and turn it a touch past the post for 1st cylinder? How does it stay in the right place without the locating tabs?

Go look at Cruiser's tips. It will show you exactly how to do it with step by step pictures.

You will need to cut up your old dizzy cap so u can see the inside while indexing it. Then when all is done. Slap a new cap & rotor on it.

I'm going to try and get an old cap from a friend since I recently replaced mine and really don't want to cut up a fairly new cap. Also, on another note. I have never noticed it burn oil at all before, but since I've started driving it again it's smoking like a chimney. Not sure if it's burning oil, or if oil is dripping on the exhaust or what. I need to get under it and look, but I've been busy or it's been raining. Is there anything that would cause it to suddenly burn a lot of oil?

Took the comanche to the autocross, it was raining and the slalom was tighter than usual and slightly offset. It was tons of fun and got tons of looks, but things need to change. So much body roll I couldn't keep any power to the wheels, the inside just spun, too tall, and it needs a muffler bad. So I plan to put some v8 zj coils on (when I get money/time) v8 zj sway bar, lower it some, and put a muffler on it. Of course all of this will come after the fixing of the backfiring and stumbling. The truck acted super unpredictable on a wet, partially painted rough asphalt surface and at one point just started going sideways, but I pulled through.

Don't know how on the forums. Got a piece of pipe put in today so it's still mufflerless, but I can have a conversation in the cab now. All the awful sounds are behind me.

Make one then. Super easy to do (and free) and you can upload videos from your phone. After its uploaded, you just post the link here and it auto converts it to a video. Then BAM! Everyone can see the drift-manche in action.

Well I haven't been updating this or anything recently. Fuel pump seems to be getting louder, driving worse than it ever has, got a v8 zj sway bar on it, have 2 headliners for a Comanche, not sure which I'll fix up and put in yet, changed the gear oil and engine oil, and now we're here.
Upcoming things (hopefully)
I want injectors whether it fixes my problem or not (gotta get some 746 soon)
Plan to replace the fuel pump soon
Plan to replace the fuel regulator since my friend has a brand new one he isn't going to use
Replace brake master cylinder
See how the jeep runs, and evaluate where to go from there.

So the Comanche didn't have any speakers in the door from the factory, it's missing the rear speaker brackets which are down in a hole behind the seat anyway, so... I need to do a little fiberglass repair on the Comanche headliner and I really want to try and fiberglass in some speakers in the corners.... any suggestions, or opinions on the matter?
