87 Comanche gets stuck in gear
So I've come across an 87 Comanche with an I6 and 2x4 for sale.https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...6dce55335d.png

What are the odds its something simple, like a shift rail? I want to check it out but I have no knowledge of camanches or manual transmissions for that matter. I've only owned auto jeeps, one which is going to be my donor (1990 cherokee Laredo). I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on what to check for, or what you think it might be. Thanks in advance! |
Going by the year it probably has the BA10 5 speed.
Through my own experience with them it's pretty common for them to get stuck in gear and parts aren't that popular to find. Better off swapping it out with a AX15 transmission with a external slave cylinder. |
Best bet would be upgrading, replacement of shifter could cure it but more than likely only for a while at best. Upgrading or replacing not cheap....
