It will fit but you have to wire up the engine as the 2.5L has a TBI unit instead of carb. Easiest and cheapest route is to find a 3.4L (160-180hp) V6 from a Camaro. Its a direct swap (except having to neutral balance the flywheel) and has more power.

Neutral balance the 2.8L flywheel. The 2.8L flywheel is weighted to balance the engine, the 3.4L is balanced at the crank. You will also use all front end acc and brackets from the 2.8L along with intake manifold and carb. All you swap is block for block. As for year, I believe it's around 93-97 era.
