1987 MJ 2.5l running rich
 

Good day folks. This is my first post here and I am also a member of Comanche Club where I have a thread going regarding my truck issue. Without going into too much detail, the main issue I'm having is the engine is running rough, the plugs are all carboned up, and the exhaust smells rich running condition. I have freshened the major ground points in the engine bay and pulled apart and cleaned the C101 plug as well as cleaned the coil/IMC contacts. I've removed the fuel tank and washed it out and installed a new fuel pump and sock and the fuel filter. I have a TBI kit that I have yet to employ The engine starts fine but idles and runs badly. I just bought the MJ off the side of the road and the owner's wife (owner deployed) said the truck ran smooth before the fuel pump went south. I believe it sat idle for several months. with the tank holding ethanol fuel. I noticed there is no emissions canister in the engine bay. Vacuum lines seem fine. If anyone here can offer suggestions please let me know. Thanks
