i have noticed mine is programmed for the flat country, now that im in the mountains, it lags when shifting, a reflash may be needed so it can relearn mountain shifting. ???

Late 80s Chrysler A604 was adaptive.
What happens if you drive it aggressively?

it runs like a scalded dawg...
on taking a steep hill from lets say 5mph when i turn up the mountain... it lags on downshifting to 1st, and clings to 2nd gear even though it should shift down.
and it kinda surges a tad when casually pressing the pedal.. i dont always speed around.. by now it should have caught on to that...
its the programming, but the drive train is making some noise those pops, its going to the shop this week, its under warranty so.. they can deal with it then..
