White spots? 2019 Cherokee

They weren’t there yesterday and when I got in the JEEP this morning they had appeared. I wiped with water and they came back. And no, it’s not from any kind of food - husband already asked me that. Help! |

It looks like some sort of chemical has dripped on those spots, notice the clear center and white outsides (the solvent evaporated leaving some residual junk behind).
Try some APC (all purpose cleaner like Simple Green or Purple Power) and a toothbrush to agitate. Probably dilute the APC first so it doesn't discolor anything further. More aggressive would be a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser |
To actually answer the OP’s question - no, I have seen nothing like that in my 2019 Limited. It sits outside in 100-115* heat too. I don't eat in the Jeep but do drink, still nothing like this. I would try a mild soap/detergent/water solution first, no strong solvents. Lots of water. Diluted SimpleGreen next, but be carefull you do not discolor the interior. To be safe, I would contact the dealer - while it looks simple, if your cleaning efforts cause damage you are on your own. The Manual recommends Mopar Total Clean, if you use that and cause damage you’re covered. With a new vehicle, be cautious! . |

Off the OP's topic but...You'll no more be covered using Mopar cleaner than if using an oven cleaner. Why? There's no way you can prove you used any product, including Mopar. If a Mopar product fails within its warranted lifespan then you're likely to be compensated.. |

My reply was made to correct your statement so that the OP or anyone understands what you said was not correct and neither is your followup that "you are in a much stronger position than if you used paint thinner or some of the actions recommended above". Your throwing out misinformation. Here's the facts. The dealer will only honor work they perform and not yours or anyone else. There're no mitigating circumstances, period. I realize you're acting in good faith in trying to help but you don't' know the facts and better off not making statement s which you are not certain are correct. Theres enough bad advice in these forums. If the scenario was different, where the car upon delivery had those stains, then everything is in favor or the owner. I was a GM for a triple franchise American car dealership for over 35 years. I know.

These spots (a) look like detergent or soap and (b) clearly dripped from above.
Do you have a sunroof? Have you been through a car wash recently? |
