Upgrading tires and maybe wheels.
 

Greetings, first post, and new Cherokee Latitude owner. So far, loving it.

I'd like to upgrade the tires and wheels to something a little more suited to off-road. The stock 17s are a little vanilla, and the road tires, well, are road tires. I'd really prefer 18s - I put larger wheels on my Silverado, and they look so much better than the stock ones. So, questions:

Do the tire pressure sensors come into play with what tires and/or wheels can go on it? I suspect tires, no - wheels, maybe.

The tires I'm looking at (if I keep the stock wheels) are BF Goodrich T/A KO2 Off Road LT225/65R17/D 107/103S - I'm seeing that the speed rating is lower than the stock tires (these are "S"). Is this a big deal? I'm rarely on the freeway, and never above the speed limit (I save that for the motorbike).

Any recommendations on a good place to get wheel/tire packages online? My huge 20" Silverado wheels (replica SS wheels) with Goodyear Eagle GTs were only about $1200 for 4, so I'd like to stay in that neighborhood, especially since I just ordered a kayak rack, bike rack, hitch receiver and other stuff. :)

If you replace the wheels tire pressure sensors come in to play,And im not sure which the jeep uses one style is a metal strap around the inside of the rim the other is a big goofy looking valve steam.If its the valve steam type most of those should fit any rim will be easy to swap them over.And if the person mounting the tires don't watch what they are doing they can break a tire pressure sensor so keep that in mind and go to a big name tire place.Best place for tires can very so figure out what you want first then shop around is the best thing to do.

I have (4)take off 225/60/18 Continental ProContact Tx A/S tires that I removed from my Cherokee Limited F/S .All you would need is wheels.
