Default Stuck Hood

I tried the search function to look for a previous thread but came up empty. Has anyone had their hood latch stick and what was the problem/solution. I can pull the inside latch and then pull the underhood latch but the hood won't open... I'm running out of windshield washer fluid so it's going to be an issue soon.

Nevermind...

It's a little warmer this afternoon so I tried again (previous try before posting was last night). The hood opened and upon inspection appears to be gunked up (technical description). I'll hit it with WD-40 unless someone recommends a better product. I'm not a believer that WD-40 fixes everything but not sure what else I'd use. Light machine oil?

If you have a 4.0L, remove the headlight buckets and remove the two bolts that hold the latch. One is visible the other is up above and not visible but a deep socket works well on it

White lithium grease spray for all hinges and latches.
