Push to start not working after an initial startup

My 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk was just in for oil change 2 days ago. Initially started up with no issues. Forgot something in house - turned off car and 10 minutes later tried to start with no luck.. Brake is really stiff and everything turns on but the engine just doesn't want to turn over and start. I think I have seen other issues with a possibility of waiting 30 minutes but this doesn't seem reasonable for a car with 25,000 miles...help??

Hi trailhawkandrea,

Did you try to remote start the Jeep more than twice and have it time out? This is from the User Guide:

"REMOTE START
• Push REMOTE START button on the Key Fob twice within five seconds.
Pushing the REMOTE START button a third time shuts the engine off.
• To drive the vehicle, push UNLOCK button, insert the key in the ignition and turn to the ON/RUN position.
• With remote start, the engine will only run for 15 minutes (timeout) unless the ignition key is placed in the ON/RUN position.
• The vehicle must be started with the key after two consecutive timeouts."

Thank you Kori - I did try what the manual stated but still will not turn over and start - My only option per the service department is to have it towed for them to look at. It is still fully covered but I thought I had seen this to be a common issue with the 2014-2016 Trailhawks..

Glad everything is still covered for you. Please let me know if you need any assistance while the Jeep is at your dealership for further diagnosis.
