2017 jeep cherokee 3.2 PCM behind radiator fan and therefore gets too hot to touch at times. It that a problem. No symptoms yet. What is the maximum acceptable temperature for an operating PCM>

No, it is not a problem. As of 2019 Jeep still positions the PCM behind the fan, and I am not aware of associated PCM issues while approaching one million KLs currently on the road.
