Oil Life Remaining indicator - please help!
Hi - I have a 2017 Jeep Cherokee - just changed the oil for the first time since purchase. Took it to a third party to have it done. I have UConnect which will expire at end of month. When I look at Uconnect on my phone it still shows my oil life as 12% left. I could not figure out how to update this so I called Mopar - girl had no idea what I was talking about, put me on hold and came back on. I had read that you can find out how to do this manually in the owner's manual but I could not find it anywhere. She said go into your car - go to the steering wheel buttons, go down to the area that indicates your oil reading and reset it by pressing ok. She said it would take 24 hours to show up on my phone.
So I did that - the vehicle does not let you change it unless the engine is off and it is in 'run' - did that. Pressed the ok but the reading will not reset and go back to 12%. I have tried several times. My car should reset even if my Uconnect does not. Anyone have any advice? I actually DO like Uconnect with the voice free on the screen with Siri and I like knowing what's going on with my vehicle via my phone but I don't think I can justify the $150 a year. Thanks! |
I cant remember how my mom reset hers, but i 'think' it was press and hold OK until it resets? Hers is a 2018 Grand.

You will need to hold the OK button down for some time, until the value resets. A simple push is not enough. . . |
all you have to do is turn the key on but do not start it and push the gas pedal 3 times within 15 seconds and it will reset

I'd love to ask the engineer who designed this, "At what point exactly did this seem like a good idea?!" :icon_confused:
