Hello all,

I have had my Cherokee for over 3 weeks now. I use it as a commuter car and I must say I am impressed with the comfort, handling, and the 4wd. It has no problem in the snow, even with the small 2.4L.

The only quirk seems to be the transmission, as I have read on the forum here. I feel like it is constantly hunting for the right gear, and even more odd is the 1/2 second to 1 second delay when shifting from reverse to drive, or vise versa. The dealer said this was normal so I guess it will take some getting used to. "Sport" mode definitely makes it feel more like a "normal" shifting transmission.

I am hoping for at least seven years out of it, so I am hoping there will be some more upgrades available as time goes by.

i was driving way too slow today and my jeep didnt like it.. you gotta run these things like a sports car to avoid the jerking transmission. dont wreck it.. but push it a little bit.. you will be impressed..
ive driven sports machines and several varieties of off road machines, and these KLs are sweet tough machines... though not fault free.. they are hard core for their class..
best of both worlds when you get the TrailHawk.. all the comfort, and skidz&lockers

I agree: three weeks, it's still learning your driving habits. It WILL adapt to your driving style and it gets better every week.

I've had mine for a year, and it's able to shift perfectly/smoothly 99% of the time. The only time it doesn't is if--in my case--I go slower than I should have. It really does want you to push it.

2.4 tigershark isnt no joke, its bad for a lil motor.. but i do think the low gears cause the jumpy feeling when your not on the pedal hard.. it kinda has to react fast due to it being low geared... hence forth the 9 speed... if it had a higher gear, it would run smooooooooother... and possibly not be able to pull its own weight..
